Every so often I like to change things up a bit. I’ve started a new blog. All the same stuff, different name.

When in Utah, take your kids for a hike after a gondola ride. Snap selfie. I think this is my new favorite family photo!

Something Old, Something New

My sister-in-law was married on a ranch in Utah last month. It was gorgeous. Part if her wedding ensemble was this:

I took the scalloped lace from the bottom of my mother-in-law’s wedding dress and made this handkerchief. I bought some Swiss batiste, and everything was seen on by hand.

Love! Love! Love!

Ugly Red

Some doors are a lovely red. Ours was not.

I’m painting it navy. I’m also keeping the door knock. It’s so ugly that it’s kind of awesome.

Yards, and yards, and yards

I took this morning for myself to sew. I have projects I want to finish, and others I want to begin. Any work is a step in the right direction, right?

This is for a commission piece I’m doing. I’ll pick the quilt up today, and get the binding sewn on tonight.

Bias binding always makes me happy. I don’t know if it’s the repetition of putting it all together, or if it’s because it means the end is near.

Either way, it makes me giddy.

Laundry Room Makeover, part two

I’m making good progress on the laundry room project. I still have work to do – mud a wall, paint the ceiling, and trim, but I’m no longer embarrassed to have the door open. A work in progress is better than the disaster that was previously there.20140304-082425.jpg

I’m really pleased with the shelving. Not the best photo, but this shelving from Home Depot is exactly like the more expensive shelving from this store (which I love, but hey, it’s a laundry room). 20140304-082522.jpg

Bought these beauties at the Marietta Farmer’s Market this weekend.

Aren’t they gorgeous?! Look at the beautiful colors! As luck would have it, husband likes glazed carrots, so I see more of this in our future.

And I can’t beat getting the food from farm to my table. Yum!
